Hillary Knows What’s Best

We adopted an older cat 2 1/2 years ago and she’s almost 15 now. She’s always been a picky eater for us. Earlier this summer she stopped eating completely. For about 2 weeks and I tried everything to get her to eat, cat treats, baby food, tuna, rotisserie chicken but would not eat at all. We took her to the vet and they told us she was very ill, dehydrated, malnourished and most likely wouldn’t recover. We decided that we would let her enjoy one last weekend of sunshine and comfort and take her back to the vet on Monday to end her suffering.

That appointment was on a Thursday. I had one last idea which was to try the fresh is best freeze dried chicken tenders as I had given these to her before as an occasional treat and she’d always liked them. I purchased a bag the following day and gave her a piece thinking it would just go to waste like everything else. Turns out I was wrong. She ate that immediately and then asked for more! She then continued to keep eating it every day and each week started getting better and better. Fast forward 3 months and she seems super healthy, has even put on some weight and has a great appetite (but will only eat the fresh is best chicken tenders-and eats every last morsel of it so none of it goes to waste).
