My dog has always loved these but the last several times I ordered them they’re very oily and so hard you can’t break them. They were never like that before and they’re also really dark colored and used to be a light tan color.

We haven’t heard other complaints but there can be changes in meat texture and fat content based on suppliers feed and harvest dates (how young or old the birds are). We also started using higher drying temperatures to protect against avian flu last year. Our inventory of Chicken Heart Bites are still tan in color can can be broken by hand, although cutting with a scissors or knife is easier. We will reach out to you privately to see if we can remedy the situation!

Due to recent concerns with the bird flu, we have changed our drying time/temp so there may be slight differences in color of some products. However, testing has shown them to be equally as appealing to pets as before. The size change is simply due to our supplier harvesting younger chickens, but you will get more hearts in a bag since the product is sold by weight.
